THE Velarde is owned by MacAndrews & Co. Ltd. of London and is equipped for the fruit trade. The streamlined bridge structure blending into the funnel and the bipod masts are distinctive features. The long hatches fore and aft of the mid ship structure give a clean looking appearance and for a model of this attractive class of ship offer plenty of access to the inside of the hull.
Construction of the hull is a matter of individual choice, but an explanation of the method used for this model may be of assistance.
