This outrigger features a gap in the rear sponsons, which helps the air to escape, and ease the penetration into the wind. Building an R/C racing outboard is simple and less complicated than an inboard, due to the fact you do not have an engine mount, stuffing box, shaft and strut to align and attach. With the outboard you build the hull, paint and mount the complete drive unit on the transom with four bolts. Adjusting the depth and angle of the propeller can be done within minutes. For a beginner this is a good craft to get started with, especially cost wise and for simplicity.
