The "Constant Star", built in 1962 for Norrard Trawlers Limited of Milford Haven, is an attractive vessel with a well-raked stem, flared bow and cruiser stern. The plans show the look-ahead type wheelhouse and the fishing gear arranged for operation on both the port and starboard sides of the vessel.
Model-makers will favour their own methods of construction, but the notes and sketches are to assist in building a model of balsa wood and gum strip paper. This method has the advantages of being strong, light in weight, and quick. A good finish can be obtained with two coats of paint, the first coat being rubbed smooth with "wet and dry" paper. Any natural wood surfaces should be given two coats of varnish to make them waterproof. Fittings can be card, wire, scraps of ply and plastic etc.
