   The model plans show profile, deck, and hull sections. Model was for exhibition purposes  power plant was fitted, but the hull construction was designed so that- one could be added if required. Notes and sketches were made during construction and are included.

   The superstructure was made from balsa and 1/16 in. ply. For a working model, this can he made removable, fitting over the coamings around the deck opening. When painting the model all the paints were of a matt finish, and colour notes are shown on the plan as a guide. Several coats were applied, these being rubbed down with 'wet and dry' paper, until a good finish was obtained.

   THE Mk. 5 Frigates built by the Vosper/ Thornycroft Group for the Imperial Iranian Navy have a length of 310 feet and a beam of 34 feet. They have a maximum speed of 39 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots.

Armament includes a 4.5 in. gun, 40 mm. gun, rocket flare projectors, Seacat missiles and A/S mortars. Sonar and various radars provide detection, navigation and fire control. A helicopter is carried at the fore end of the after deck.
