Model Construction
I redrew the lines at model size then decided that the best method of construction would be plank‑on‑frame with bread and butter balsa bows, so instead of just showing lines I decided to detail each rib. Many people who are not experienced modellers are put off by lines drawings. The boat is not a beginner's model but anyone with some modelling experience should not find it a difficult model to build. However, the ribs are to true scale so anyone with some experience could construct a set of lines from them. Now, before you start model construction, sit down and examine the drawings carefully.
We have seen in the last decade or so several new types of vessel appearing around the coast of the United Kingdom. Probably the most successful of these designs is the deep sea stern trawler.
In little under ten years after the introduction of the prototypes the design has been so successful that it has almost completely replaced the older style side trawler, although it must be said that the revolution has been largely in the deep sea field. However, smaller stern trawlers are beginning to make appearances.
