WITH the snow lying deep and crisp and even, here's a chance to model something for this topical environment; so go, man, go, this Cat's real cool one just can't wait to see this frozen feline slide over the Rock and Roll onto the softest snow.
We had the opportunity of inspecting the actual machine and developed the model to a scale of 3/4 in. to one foot, a size which suits "Mighty Midget" and similar motors, and might be capable of carrying lightweight radio control for those who wish to indulge in blizzard busting from the comfort of the window seat.
The construction is well suited to the facilities available to the "kitchen table modeler just balsa and ply with a small percentage of simple soldering jobs.
The formidable appearance of the full size Cat's paws led to a modification to suit a wider range of prospective builders, for, while it may be a feat of mechanical dexterity to reproduce a set of four perfectly scale track units, with almost 3,000 parts in the form of a set of scraper conveyors sliding over sled like pontoons, we pass!
